2010 Submission Rules & Regulations
Submission Date: April 12, 2010 – May 12, 2010
FILM SUBJECT MATTER :
Short films that are reflective of the surrounding people living in rapidly changing communities. Films that feature motivational content that touches the soul and inspires change. Films that stimulate the mind and spark conversation, getting diverse groups of people talking together. Films that tickle your tummy when you’re having a rough day. Films that demand you look at life from a different perspective. Be Yourself. Share your issue. Be passionate. Be original.
Eligibility :
To be eligible, Entries must be the original work of the Entrant; must not infringe third-party’s rights; must be suitable for publication (i.e., may not be obscene or indecent); must not contain obscene or pornographic material; may not contain defamatory statements about any person, company, organization or entity; may not invade privacy or other rights of any person, company or entity; may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations; and may not contain any copyrighted elements. Networking Getaway Shorts Festival reserves the right to make the final determination as to which Entries are eligible.
Prize :
ONE LUCKY FILMMAKER WILL WIN $200 AND AN AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD. THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED DURING THE “MIXER”. IF WINNING FILMMAKER IS NOT IN ATTENDENCE THEN THEY WILL BE NOTIFIED THE NEXT DAY BY EMAIL.

Film Format :
We will accept your film submission on DVD only, regardless of original shooting format. No films will be returned, so please keep a copy. DVD’s must be playable on US consumer grade DVD players. DVD’s must not include labels or stickers on the DVD, please use a black Sharpie pen to write the Project Title and Contact name on the DVD. Foreign languages films are acceptable only if subtitled or dubbed in English…do not send English translated scripts with your film. No PAL format. For DVDs, send converted/playable for Region Code 1 (North America) or Region Code 0 (universal). Do not send rough cuts or temp prints.
Rights :
Networking Getaway Shorts Festival reserves the right to include scenes from videos in future promotional materials.
NOTE: WE ARE LOOKING FOR PREMIERES, FILMS THAT MAY HAVE COMPLETED IT’S FILM FESTIVAL RUN OR IS CURRENTLY PLAYING AT FESTIVALS.
SELECTED WORKS :
INVITED FILMMAKERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL OR THE INFORMATION IN THE SUBMITTED ENTRY FORM AROUND MID MAY OF SUBMITTED YEAR. MOST UPDATES AND CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL. FILMMAKERS SELECTED ARE NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND FESTIVAL, BUT IF YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND FESTIVAL, YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A $55 TICKET LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. NO ONE IS EXCLUDED FROM PAYING FULL PRICE.

YOU MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING (BY THE DATES DESIGNATED BY THE SERIES):
AN EXHIBITION COPY OF THE INVITED WORK, IN ONE OF THE EXHIBITION FORMATS SPECIFIED BELOW.
AN APPLICABLE WRITTEN SUBSTANTIATION THAT YOU HAVE SECURED ALL NECESSARY UNDERLYING RIGHTS AND/OR HAVE PROPERLY OBTAINED ALL CLEARANCES
A TRAILER OR ONE-MINUTE CLIP ON DVD AND/OR ANY OTHER FORMAT SPECIFIED BY THE SERIES
FOR NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGE WORKS, ENGLISH SUBTITLES FOR EXHIBITION.
FULL PRESS KITS, INCLUDING FILM STILLS AND DIRECTOR(S) PHOTOS (LARGE JPEGS OR FILES ON CD ROM OR MAC FORMATTED DISKS), SYNOPSIS, FULL PRODUCTIONS CREDITS AND DIRECTOR BIO. NOTE THAT IF MATERIALS ARE NOT SUBMITTED BY THE APPLICABLE DEADLINE, THE SERIES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SECURE SUBSTITUTE MATERIALS FROM OTHER SOURCES OR LACK OF COOPERATION DEEMS INVITED WORK DISQUALIFIED.
SERIES SECTIONS :
WORKS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN Networking Getaway Shorts Festival WILL BE SHOWN IN THE SECTION SERIES FEELS MOST APPROPRIATE.
